Some late nights in a little studio by the ocean have resulted in a new song, Do it Right, and The Jojos first music video.

Survival in Stockholm

May 28, 2008

Even rockstars have to work sometime to be able to afford things as rent and the expensive swedish coffee. Living the art is not as easy as it seems, unless you want to sleep in a carboard box under a bridge.

To solve this problem, The Jojos nowdays concider themselves hitmakers AND poarch builders. So once in a while we pack our guitars and head for an island in the Stockholm archipelago where the poarch is under construction. Anyone who met my facination for american white trash and trailorparks would see that I have a similar love for the romance of construction. Building stuff is so much better if you live it. Drinking coffe, eating the right food, drinking light (swedish light=less alcohol) beer and listening to bad radio just makes it all so much more enjoyable. The fact that we’re working right by the sea in the sun doesn’t make things worse..

As the constructing continues we’ll keep posting it on the blog if anyone wants to hire us for your building skills, rather than music.

Rockstar dreams

May 23, 2008

This blog would perhaps started for 5 months later, on days when I (Johan) and Joel decided that now is the time. Time to become rockstars and make something of all the hits we’ve written together in the last 4 years. On February 28th I moved to Stockholm, empty-handed everything but a student room, and with a goal that feels good to say to say, but that may not sound too realistic.
I’m gonna be a rockstar.

To make a long story short, we came into contact with Robban, which, after listening to a few hits became our manager. He got us great place to rehearse in cetral Stockholm, complete with sauna and a pingpong table, and a job so we can afford to buy coffee and pay the rent. Is swedish there is an expression “sliding around on a shrimp-sandwich”, I guess you could call it that.

But now we’re finally on the move. And we can’t say we’re rockstars, yet. So it is not late to follow The Jojos on their road to success, it has only just begun.
